Alana Riley is a photo/video-based artist and freelance photographer living in Montreal, Canada. Her work explores portraiture and social interactions as a means of examining the ways in which we relate to one another, both intimately and within society at large. She completed her B.F.A. in Studio Art and Photography from Concordia University in Montreal in 2003. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and the US. Her work is currently being featured in public advertising spaces throughout Canada and Mexico as part of Make Art Public (MAP). She recently completed a residency at the National Sculpture Factory in Cork, Ireland. Riley has shot for numerous national and international publications, such as Chatelaine, Macleans, Maissoneuve, Monopol, New York Times, Re:Porter, and Walrus. Her work is represented by the Joyce Yahouda Gallery.
